This course will teach students the fundamentals of digital photography. Students will learn how to select and use a digital camera. Students will learn about the proper way to control your camera, by understanding the relationship of Shutter Speed, ISO, White Balance, Aperture, Framing, Focal Lengths, Bokeh, etc… each of which play pivotal role in creating beautiful photos. Throughout the course, students will learn and use the basics of Adobe Photoshop to edit and refine their photographs that they can store, print and email to friends and family.
75% of the course is “Hands On” learning how to use a camera.
25% will be used to “clean up” your photos and to offer insight into digital image manipulation.
Upon completion of this course students should be able to comfortably use their digital cameras, download the pictures into their computers and manipulate images with Adobe Photoshop.

Ownership and/or access to a digital camera. Basic computer skills are assumed which means that understanding the basics of Microsoft Windows and the ability to manage files on your computer.All prerequisites are considered to be the basic skills and knowledge needed prior to taking this class. Instructors will assume your readiness for the class materials and will NOT use class time to discuss prerequisite materials.
